KATY, TX — The 2016 Carl Spackler Open will move its date again. This time the event will be held one weekend prior to Memorial Day Weekend or one weekend before Father's Day Weekend to accommodate golf course availability and overall participation. The projected date of the next event is likely May 18-21 or June 8-11.

"We have found three dates that work with our venue options," says Chairman of the Captains Club Greg Long. "The Golf Club at Chapel Ridge has been postponed again until at least 2017. We continue to negotiate heavily with Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville, PA and Sevierville Golf Club in Sevierville, TN. A decision on both date and golf course are coming soon."

The Carl Spackler Open also explored a return to The Grande Golf Club in Jackson, MI. "We are leaving no stone left unturned," says Long. "We have also explored Maryland and Illinois, however things are pointing towards Pennysvlania or Tennessee."

The decision to postpone Chapel Ridge is a breakdown in negotiations, availability, and logistics. The course itself is considered one of the best options in the history of the golf tournament.

The registration process will open shortly after a venue announcement. Initial deposits will be collected with balances due in April. The event is expected to have 52 to 64 golfers for its 16th event. Selecting a date is the priority with location as a close second.
