SEVIERVILLE, TN — The Captains Club announced yesterday the tournament player's meeting will return in 2016. The 16-year old event will hold its player meeting 15 minutes after the traditional practice round and initial bag storage. The 30-minute meeting will be held at Sevierville Golf Club.

"The event has matured over the past few years," says Greg Long, Chairman of the Captains Club. "The meeting no longer requires 60 minutes and has been shortened to 30 minutes. The importance of communicating verbally and collectively on Day 1 still has enormous value, however the amount of information has been reorganized for distribution requiring only 30 minutes."

The practice round is scheduled to begin at 2:00PM EST on June 8. The player meeting will follow initial bag storage. The clubhouse kitchen will be open for hungry and thirsty participants. "Every venue is different," says Long. "Having a chance to explain the details surrounding each venue before participants get settled in keeps each event organized."

The annual meeting is a chance for players to get to know one-another, discuss a quick itinerary with  schedules, provide explanations, chair a rule discussion, online scoring, and provide player expectations surrounding ground transportation, entertainment, and hotel.

The Carl Spackler Open will begin in 63 days. There are 64 golfers expected for the 16th annual golf party, which will be played in Tennessee. Sevierville Golf Club, a 36-hole facility, will host the golf tournament with The Clarion Inn Willow River hosting the players for its lodging.
