SAVANNAH, GA — Kenneth Frisbie of Beaufort, SC has signed a national letter-of-intent to play golf at the 2010 Carl Spackler Open, Pat Boland of the Captains Club announced today. The rookie will join the tournament field for the annual 54-hole tournament.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps in January 1982 and attended recruit training in nearby Parris Island, SC. He has since spent time in Virginia, West Virginia, Hawaii, and California.

Sergeant Major Frisbie’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with gold star, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with gold star, the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold star, and participation in the Carl Spackler Open.

"I am looking forward to Frisbie and Shirreffs keeping order this year," says Pat Boland. "I would not feel safer anywhere else in the world."

There are unconfirmed reports that Frisbie will play 'First Call' with his horn each morning. The report suggested Frisbie believes the early morning tee times and horn will solve the problem of not having alarm clocks in the condominums. Fellow Sergeant Major Erik Shirreffs will join Frisbie in his front yard for calisthenics.

The duo will lead the participants in a morning run through the community to the swimming pool for 10 laps. The duo will return to Frisbie's front yard for 50 grass drills, 25 push ups, and 25 sit ups.

"We will run these guys until someone throws up," says Erik Shirreffs of the morning routine. "I think a lot of our guys need a mini-boot camp."

Kenneth Frisbie registers as the 45 participant after purchasing $99 one-way Southwest Airline flights between Jacksonville, FL and Harlingen, TX. The +15 stroke handicap with 14 posted scorecards is a bogey machine. Frisbie averages 1 par, 13 bogeys, and 4 double-bogeys per round.

"This marine for sure plays golf with more than a 5-iron," says senior member Mark Wray. "He obviously can kill me with his bare hands in a matter of seconds, but he probably kick my ass on the golf course too."

The 2010 Carl Spackler Open Championship will be held in Laguna Vista, TX. The annual practice round will begin at 12:00PM on Thursday, April 15. A lunch will be provided as part of the tournament. Participants can stock their golf cart coolers at the lunch table with $2 beers and Poweraides.
