SEVIERVILLE, TN — While "Beverly Hills 90210" was making its ten year run, Tim Davis never watched a single episode. The affairs of rich kids in Beverly Hills really didn't interest him; and, even though Jennie Garth and Tiffani Amber-Thiessan are real eye candy, that wasn't enough to tie him to watching a weekly continuing drama with what I thought would be such an uninteresting subject.

Instead, he studied in hopes of becoming a doctor, earning big money, and becoming eye candy himself. The 2007 Rookie of the Year, Dr. 90210, has since become a doctor in the suburb of Los Angeles, CA. He is in line for his Starbucks with Jennifer Anniston and in line for his television debut on Dr. 90210. He signed an agreement to play in his 7th major championship in 10 years.

"Is he bringing those cigars," said BFF Matt Mogel on hearing of his commitment? "I am so excited to see him. I do not know how I have gone so long without him."

Davis is best known for a drive he hit at an extremely narrow uphill par-4 18th hole during the 4-man Scramble in Brooklyn, Michigan. "I have considered a lot of things possible in my life, but never considered the 18th green on the fly as possible," said senior member Bob Morris. "It would take Tiger Woods three hours to reproduce that shot. It was his shining moment along with burning off his nose hair with a cigar lighter."

Tim returns after a horrible 4th place finish in Ohio. He enters his 7th tournament without ever cracking the Top 20 and placing as low as 71st. "Never cracking the Top 20 in so many attempts takes effort," says Captains Club member. "He lacks competitiveness. He has experienced success, but most of that won't matter without a Golden Jacket in his closet.

Fellow doctor Matt Boland also signed a contract to participate in his 2nd straight event. Boland, a.k.a. Pat's Beer Bitch, returns to the Carl Spackler Open after placing 45th with Tim Davis in Ohio.

"He finished 93rd in Pennsylvania," says Jay Glover of Boland's struggles at the Open. "The Jack Nicklaus posture over the ball is not working for him. The good news is he dedicated to performing. The bad news are the greens in Sevierville will be the fast."

Boland has struggled with Tim Davis, but did manage to crack the Top 20 once in 2009. He grabbed an 11th place finish at Poplar Grove. "I am starting to get my footing," says Boland of his golf game. "I think everyone will be surprised by what I have accomplished this offseason. Whoever is in charge of jackets... I am a 48 regular."

The 2016 Carl Spackler Open is a national championship with representation from 15 states with 64 participants. This year's event in Tennessee will be hosted in its 12th different state. Participants will be expected to pay their balances in mid-April with a final roster announced shortly after.
