Get'm Registered

NEW YORK, NY — Don Creighton of the Captains Club took a moment to remind the present members of the existing opportunity to register potential rookies. More importantly, to get important scorecards posted online to establish a handicap. The registration process can be found on the Spackler homepage.

"What appears to be an 9 month notice is only 30-day notification for rookie tournament registration in Texas," says Creighton. "We require anyone participating in a Carl Spackler Open Championship to have a minimum of 4-posted scorecards online. We have a great tournament and part of that is because we have accurate handicaps."

The projected attendance for the next event is expected to be 60-68 before topping off with one or two rookies. The bulk of rookie attendance is statistically based on distance to venue.

"I have heard quite a bit of talk this summer," said Creighton. "There is a lot of rookie rumors, but usually only half officially sign. Even half is great news."

Rookies will simply register online with Poststats.com and then request membership to the Carl Spackler Open.

The 10th annual event is expected to be held in Laguna Vista, TX, Erie, PA, Barnesville, PA, or Binghamton, NY.

The 2010 Carl Spackler Open Championship venue will be announced by November 1. The event date will be April 15-19 or June 9-13 and also announced on November 1.
