WARREN, PA — The Spackler business office received a surprise letter of intent from the 2008 Al Cervic Outfit and 2003 Carl Spackler Outfit recipients. Mike Lewis and Jon Munksgard of Warren, PA purchased airplane tickets last Saturday from Buffalo, NY to San Antonio, TX.

"The $81 one-way Southwest fare was very impressive," said Lewis in a written statement. "I am pinching myself over this airfare. Another $399 to Dosky and we are even with the Lynchburg trip. We plan to wait and grab another one-way ticket home from Harlingen, Brownsville, or San Antonio."

The one-way Southwest fare from Buffalo to San Antonio after taxes and fees was $102. AirTran Airlines has a return flight from San Antonio, TX to Buffalo, NY  on April 19, 2010 for $110 with taxes and fees.

Jon Munksgard signs to participate in his 8th straight major championship. Lewis registers for his 5th event in 7 years.

Lewis placed 87th at the 2009 Carl Spackler Open and 68th at the 2008 Carl Spackler Open. Mike placed 52nd at Mountain Valley in June 2005. His best finish was in June 2004 when he placed 38th with 48 participants.

"Today marks the beginning of my personal quest to win this 2010 Carl Spackler Open Championship," says senior member Mike Lewis. "Waiting for unimportant details is somewhat unimportant. This tournament is too exciting to wait on the unimportant. I am in. How about you?"

Jon Munksgard registers after placing 52nd at Poplar Grove. "I am looking forward to providing the beach some 'eye candy'," said Munksgard. "I am getting closer and closer to getting Lewis into the Carl Spackler Outfit. Lewis on the beach in the outfit is my goal."

Round trip inclusive fees on Southwest Airlines to and from San Antonio International Airport (SAT) for service on April 14, 2010 and April 19, 2010 are as follows: RDU @ $199, LGA @ $222, BWI @ $225, CMH @ $238, ORF @ $236, PIT @ $220, PHL @ $253, and DTW @ $243.

Other airline fares include GSO @ $291 and CLT @ $318.

The 2010 Carl Spackler Open Championship will be held in Laguna Vista, TX. The 'once-in-a-decade' golf trip will begin with the practice round on Thursday, April 15, 2010. There are 40 to 60 participants expected to attend the 10th annual event.
