Tatum Registers for Texas

January 25, 2010

SMITHFIELD, VA — The Carl Spackler business office has reloaded their event with Jeff Tatum of Smithfield, VA. The 52nd best golfer in Spacker history signed his national letter of intent to play in the 2010 Carl Spacker Open back in early January. Tatum boosts the field of players and will represent the state of Virginia.

Tatum, a.k.a. Tater, returns after finishing 47th in 2009. "I am not as bad as 47th position in Amherst shows," said Tatum during his registration. "Everyone needs to remember my 64th position in Peru and you'll undertand the forward progress being made. I plan to make another move up in Texas."

Jeff is slated in Texas to acquire 6 points for par and 4 points for bogey. "This guy is going to hack like hell or be wearing a Golden Jacket on April 18," says Chris Price. "His point distribution is stunning."

Tater is the 3rd participant to represent Virginia. He follows the registrations of Kevin Long, Jr. and Glenn Hoffert.

"One of the most consistent golfers in our history," says Kevin Long, Jr. "His ability to shoot between 35 to 42-over par is amazing to me. You can bet on it."

The final tournament field is expected to be 40 to 60 participants. Tournament pairings and rooming list will be available in very early April after outstanding balances are collected. The golf tournament is scheduled with 18-holes on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The awards presentation is scheduled on Sunday night.
