Rookie Storms Texas
Palmer Boosts Outlook

February 4, 2010

CHARLOTTE, NC — Mark Palmer, the rookie from 2009 Carl Spackler Open Championship, surprised everyone with his 2nd straight signing to play golf in Texas. Palmer will make the trip from southern North Carolina while boasting a 16.7 stroke handicap.

Palmer boosts the attendance outlook for the 10th annual birthday party. The national golf event could register 46 to 48 participants.

The winner of nothing did manage to score 106 points during 2009 Virtual Tournament play and 67th position in his rookie major.

"It is great that my attendance is finally 100 percent," says Palmer from his home in Charlotte, NC. "Charlotte International Airport and US Airways make purchasing cheap airfare very tricky. It is great to be back once again. All that is left is figuring out how to get through a night in San Antonio with heavy drinkers Jason Dilks, Jeff Tatum, Bill Bateson, Kevin Long, and Jay Myers."

Mark poured in 11 pars during the 54-hole tournament last June. "That was enough good holes to ensure no outfit for the North Carolinan," says senior member Bill Bateson. "The rookie excuse is over now. He must remove the hockey sticks and snowmen from his scorecard to advance in this premier event."

Palmer will chase history at the South Padre Island Golf Club with 4 points for par and 10 points for birdie. He understands the wind can blow more than 45 miles per hour, which explains his recent drills to create knock down long and short irons.

Mark Palmer follows the signing of fellow North Carolinan Jeremy Myers. He signs as the 18th participant for the 10th annual event, which will be held in sunny southern Texas. There are 40 to 60 participants expected for the 10th annual golf trip.
