COLUMBUS, OH — The Captains Club announced today the signing of their Chairman, Greg Long of Columbus, Ohio, to play golf at the 2010 Carl Spackler Open in Laguna Vista, TX. Slick files this letter of intent with Captains Club CFO Rick Dosky, who is slowly recovering from replacing his second hip.

Long is the winner of the 2001 Carl Spackler Open, Golden Jacket, and 2003 Closest to the Pin Contest. Dosky is the winner of the 2005 Carl Spackler Open at Mountain Valley. He also was awarded a Golden Jacket.

Both Captains Club members register for the 10th birthday/golf party in search of their 2nd Golden Jackets with what is expected to be a very strong and competitive field.

"I am very excited about returning to the Open Championship and especially southern Texas," says Long. "It is a solid course that sets up well for my bermuda shirts. With tournament course experience from October, I believe that I have a small edge on much of the tournament field."

Long is one of three known participants with South Padre Island golf experience. The others are potential Captains Club member Pat Boland and fellow Texan Jason Watson.

Rick Dosky enters the April tournament as the 4th best golfer in Spackler history behind Trent Cooper, Jason Ridgeway, and Pat Boland.

"Both hips are now replaced and the hook is officially gone," says Dosky. "The inability to come through the ball right now just seems impossible to pull the ball left. Thank god my championship swing was not totally destroyed with two new hips."

Dosky carries a modest +42.4 stroke handicap and most likely will receive 3 points for double bogey in Texas. The 9-year member of the Carl Spackler Open built his legend in June 8, 2006 when he said with excitement, "I was on fire out there today. It seemed like I could not do anything wrong." Rick posted a career best 35-over 107 at the Neuse Golf Club.

The Carl Spackler Open is scheduled to begin in just under 54 days. The best amateur tournament in America will host a 4-man Best Ball, 4-man Scramble, and Skills Challenge Contest.
