HOUSTON, TX — A party bus is a modified bus designed to carry 10 or more people purely for recreational purposes generally involving some kind of celebration, such as a birthday or graduation. Party buses are driven by chauffeurs.

The Carl Spackler Open rented a party bus back in June 2006. The event keg had its own seat on the bus when participants were not doing 'keg stands' on Interstate 40 near downtown Raleigh, NC. The special transportation provided a stripper-pole for Tommy McCauley to secure his first of two straight Horses Ass Awards.

This year's event in Texas will include a 5-hour party airplane and seats for hundreds. "This is pretty special," says senior member Matt Pritchard. "I have been to football tailgates in a stretch motorhome. I have been in many limos and even a few party buses. I have never been given the opportunity to turn a commerical aircraft into a wild party. Can someone pinch me?"

The Boeing 737 bound aircraft will transport 15 participants of the Carl Spackler Open to Houston, TX on April 14. The 15 passengers will change planes where they will join 3 additional participants for a 60 minute flight to Harlingen, TX.

The Carl Spackler Open secured discounted beer at the golf course. "The $2.00 beer at the golf course is an easier negotiation," says a joking Jason Ridgeway of Galloway, OH. "What about $2.00 beers from Southwest while on the airplanes?"

Captains Club member Chris Philipsen replied, "Working on it. There are hundreds of Southwest Beverage Vouchers being sold on ebay for between $2.00 and $3.00 per voucher. Just waiting for the right quantity and price to present itself."

Bob Morris of Chicago, IL will depart Midway Airport on April 14 for St. Louis, MO. He will join the Boland brothers for a flight to Dallas, TX. The threesome will make a quick change of plane and head to Houston, TX where 15 participants will board the half empty aircraft.

The flight with 18 participants is scheduled for arrival to Harlingen, TX at 7:30PM. The 18 passengers, 18 golf bags, and 18+ suitcases will be transported to South Padre Island Golf Club for the 5 night/4 day event.

The 2010 Carl Spackler Open will be held in Laguna Vista, TX. There are 48 to 60 participants expected for the 10th annual birthday party. The event will host a practice round on April 15 and tournament rounds on April 16, 17, and 18. An Awards Dinner & Presentation will be held at Bayside Banquet Facility in Laguna Vista, TX on April 18.
