Weather, Bugs & Weather Delays

The area statistically averages a 78 degree-high and 67 degree-low temperature on June 6 each year. Peru averages 4.23 inches of rain in the month of June, which is the 3rd highest in history.

The 54-hole tournament has experienced completely dry conditions once in 7 years. The tournament will be played in rain, but not in a heavy downpour. The tournament could be adjusted to 36 holes on Friday or Saturday due to bad weather. Please use your daily pairing sheets and common sense. The Closest to the Pin, Skills Challenge, and 4-man Scramble in this order will be activities removed from the itinerary if needed. The tournament can also be adjusted for 27 holes on Thursday if heavy rain is expected on Friday. The Daily Pairing Sheets will be updated every night.

The choice spot to ride out very bad weather is the very large clubhouse banquet area.

Very wet conditions prior to the tournament can attract an obscene amount of mosquitos. It is recommended that players obtain plenty of insect repellent for MULTIPLE golfers over the 4 day period if Peru receives lots of rain prior to arrival. Absorbine Jr. works well.

The cooler morning temperatures could require a pullover jacket. Umbrellas, drizzle sticks, rain suits and towels should be packed.
