As White as a Tiger

June 25, 2003

ASHTABULA, OH — Tiger Woods did not make it the 2003 Carl Spackler Open, but some white Tiger's were on the prowl at this major championship of 2003.  Mike Trojanowski, Jay Myers and Matt Davis of the Captains Club decided early Saturday that they would put the roar back into Thunder Hill.  All three had something to prove.

Matt Davis did just that when he carded a very impressive 45 points in the final round.  Mike Trojanowski also carded 20 points, but enough to keep him out of his 2nd Carl Spackler Outfit.  Jay Myers carded his 2nd straight 30 point round giving him his first Top 10 in over 3 years.

"Fowble is lucky that we did not play 72 holes this year", said Davis.  "His ass would have been mine."  Myers added a different angle, "This was my first year where I could enjoy the final round.  I am not surprised it was my 2nd best round even though I carded 78 going out and 79 coming in.  I just get points."

Trojanowski finished 31st this year, staying above Jon Munksgard who withdrew on the 54th hole stating, "I can't drive nor see."
