CHOCOWINITY, NC — The #1 amateur golf event, Carl Spackler Open, is hosting its 22nd event in 23 years. Its Captains Club is excited to open its event with a Welcome Player Meeting. The one-hour meeting will include a meet and greet, distribution of gifts, and a variety of tips and instruction for the event.

"We have both an exciting and informative meeting planned," said Chairman of the Captains Club Greg Long. "Get your dinner beforehand and bring beverage or two to the meeting."

The one-hour meeting will be held Wednesday night at the Fairfield Inn in Washington, NC. The meeting will begin at 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time in the large hotel breakfast area.

The meeting itinerary will also include some golf course food and beverage plan, player introductions, final mobile website confirmations, bag storage procedures, plan surrounding range balls, tee markers, basic itinerary, weather updates, and general golfer shuttling tips.

"The Captains Club anonymously demanded the Welcome Player Meeting return in 2021," says CFO Rick Dosky. "The importance of getting organized has enormous value. It is our opportunity to also welcome everyone to our event. So a newer tradition continues."

"We are returning with senior tee qualifications," says Bill Bateson. "We will briefly discuss the yardages, tees, and who qualifies at the meeting."

The 2023 Carl Spackler Open will be held at Cypress Landing Golf Course in Chocowinity, North Carolina. There are 84 golfers expected for the 108-hour golf party. Participants from 14 different states are expected to tee off Friday in the 22nd annual golf tournament.
