Rumors of 2nd Major

August 4, 2004

CHESTERVILLE, OH — Mike Watkeys, the player without a non-major scorecard since June 2003 is reportly signing to play a second major championship in 2004.  "My check is on the way," says Watkeys.  Of course, he is referring to Golfapalooza scheduled to begin in 55 days.  "I am excited about being a rookie once again."

Mike Watkeys is the winner of the 2004 Carl Spackler Outfit when he posted a disasterous 136 strokes, 11 point Round 1 in Winston-Salem.  His back-nine 73 was certainly enough to prove the best man had received the distinctive honor.

"I heard about the wonderful videos at Golfapalooza," says Watkeys.  "Dosky told me that he would take care of my entertainment.  That was enough for me."

Watkeys signs as the 2nd rookie behind Bill Bateson of Powell, Ohio.  Golfapalooza is a 54-hole event scheduled for play in Terra Alta, WV beginning on September 25.
