TERRA ALTA, WV — There are new champs in West Virginia after an amazing round last Thursday at Alpine Lake Resort.  Brent Kaniecki, Greg Garrett, Rick Dosky, and Stan Kaniecki fired a best ball 73 strokes to defeat the 4-time winners from 2001.

"Someone stepped up on each hole," said Garrett during the awards presentation.  "Even Dosky dominated a few holes."  Dosky birdied 13 and 14.  Brent Kaniecki birdied 1 and 16.  He also pared 4, 6, 18, and the impossible 12.  Garrett pared only 7, 9, and 14.  Stan took care of the rest and sealed the deal.

The new champs beat Spraguer, Sokos, Long, and Adamski who shot 77.  "Max was the difference," said Gus Sokos.  "We needed him really bad."

There were 5 teams playing in this year's event.
