CHOCOWINITY, NC — The Captains Club announced the registration period for the 2023 Carl Spackler Open is now open. The period will end in early April 2023 and requires each participant to register online, submit a deposit of $150.00, and gain knowledge of the new roster acceptance procedure.

The Captain's Club has chosen a new proactive approach that addresses participant demand and builds future rosters with availability for 40, 60, and 92 golfers. "Let's get it on," said Captains Club member Bill Bateson. "It's time to start talking about Spackler and get out the check books. Remember to read and the process registration or be left out.”

The tournament details are open to the public and available online at carlspackleropen.com. Golfers who are interested can visit the website, click "Register Now!", and follow the step-by-step directions. The registration process remains the same, but contains an information overhaul that will take golfers approximately 30 minutes to consume.

"This year is not normal and cannot stress reading the registration process slowly and carefully," added Captains Club member Matt Pritchard. "The event has expanded its roster acceptance with long-term annual repeating process. There are 80 to 88 spots for 2023."

The 22nd annual golf tournament is scheduled to be played in North Carolina at Cypress Landing Golf Course. The tournament office is expecting between 48 and 88 golfers.

Paid registrants will not be added to the 2023 Carl Spackler Open roster until their designated phase on the Roster Worksheet. All golfers who register online will be listed in the 'Rumor Mill' with desire to participate.

The $150 deposits should be written out to the non-profit organization "Carl Spackler Open, Inc."

The Carl Spackler Open will continue to collect $150 deposits. All funds will always be 100% fully refundable for anyone not accepted as a participant. Deposits for accepted participants are non- refundable and non-transferrable starting 5 months prior to each event. The registration process and website notebook outline the unchanged policy surrounding credit eligibility for the following event.

“The money will be posted to your Poststats.com account under your last event played,” added Captains Club member Rick Dosky. "The website is designed to track excess money and roll it forward. Monitor our website to ensure your funds get posted to the current or your last event attended."

The 2023 Carl Spackler Open is a 4-day event and includes a 54-hole golf tournament and practice round. Participant options will be collected starting February 2023. Options are expected to include golf rules, replay round, roommates, playing partners, and apparel purchases.
