The Quality Inn is 24 to 30 minutes from Poplar Grove depending on route taken. We have spent some time putting together very detailed directions. If you follow these directions, you must ignore Poplar Grove Golf Club signs when you see them. Follow these directions word for word. The fastest and most efficient way is probably not on maps or inside GPS software. One particular road opened 5 months ago.

LONGEST TRIP - 30 MINUTES (Garrett and Slick drove this way and can guarantee success)
1. Turn right out of parking lot and right on Odd Fellows Road.
2. Turn right and hopping onto Route 29 North Business. (Lynchburg Highway)
3. Follow Route 29 Business for 3 miles crossing James River.
4. Exit at Route 210. Make right at bottom of ramp on Route 210 East.
5. Take Route 210 East for 2.5 miles.
6. Go under Route 29 and immediately turn left hopping onto Route 29 North.
7. Follow Route 29 North for several miles into Amherst, VA.
8. Exit at Route 60 East. At the top of the exit, turn left traveling east on Route 60.
9. Travel 1/2 mile passing the industrial park sign on the left.
10. Make first available right at Rutledge Hill Apartments on Dulwich Drive.
11. Follow 1/8 mile. Go straight through stop sign onto gravel road. (Do not follow signs that suggest turning left.)
12. Follow the slow turning gravel road. This road might seem to be the wrong road, but it is correct.
13. At the end of the gravel road, make left and make first available right on Tavern Road.

SHORTEST TRIP - 24 MINUTES (Directions provided by the clubhouse. New road opened.)
1. Turn right out of parking lot and right on Odd Fellows Road.
2. Turn right and hopping onto Route 29 North Business. (Lynchburg Highway)
3. Follow Route 29 Business for 3 miles crossing James River.
4. Exit at Route 210. Make right at bottom of ramp on Route 210 East.
5. Take Route 210 East for 2.5 miles.
6. Go under Route 29 and immediately turn left hopping onto Route 29 North.
7. Follow Route 29 North for several miles towards Amherst, VA.
8. Exit before Amherst at Sweet Briar Road and Route 29 Business. (Exit ramp turns 270 degrees)
9. At the top of exit, turn left traveling south on Route 29 Business (South Amherst Highway).
10. Cross over Route 29 and make left on Sweet Briar Road (Route 624).
11. Immediately go under railroad bridge and turn left staying on Sweet Briar Road (Route 624).
12. Immediately go over Route 29 again and road comes to end with stop sign.
13. Turn left, travel 30 yards, and turn right between black gates. Road appears to be a driveway.
14. Drive 750 feet and you will see a pond (left side) and golf course off in the distance.
15. Keep driving on this road for another 3,500 feet.
16. You will start to see expensive golf course homes. Then a pond with fountain on right.
17. Make a right on 'Golf Course Trail Lane'.
18. Follow this road 450 yards until it ends.
19. Make left at 9th tee box on London Lane.
20. Travel down London Lane past the range and make left on Tavern Road.
